Miss Belle therefore proceeds to encourage Gemma to reveal her accomplice's name, first by caning her hands, then the back of her thighs, then the front of her thighs. As a last resort, Miss Belle whips Gemma's breasts but she still refuses to speak. Miss Belle therefore has no option but to apply the original sentence of 48 strokes of the Singapore cane to Gemma's bottom.
